Women’s Basketball Defeats Campbellsville-Harrodsburg in Exhibition

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team defeated Campbellsville-Harrodsburg 91-29 in an exhibition matchup Monday at Biggers Sports Center.

Five Blue Raiders were in double figures led by Rae Ellen Jones who scored a game-high 14 points. Taylor Guess added 13 points going a perfect 6-of-6 from the field while Gracie Borders had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Emily Cox and Jarie Thomas round out the Blue Raider double-digit point scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Blue Raiders opened the game scoring the first nine points propelled by Cox who scored five. Campbellsville-Harrodsburg then scored five of the next seven points to make it 11-5 with 6:08 to play in the quarter. The Blue Raiders ended the first quarter on a 10-2 run to lead 27-10. Lindsey Wilson shot 85.7 percent from the field (12-of-14) in the first 10 minutes.

Lindsey Wilson opened the second quarter on a 9-1 run propelled by seven Fleming points to lead 36-11 with 5:28 to play in the half. Following a pair of Pioneer free throws, the Blue Raiders scored the next eight points increasing their lead to 44-13. Lindsey Wilson held a 47-17 advantage at halftime.

The Blue Raiders limited the Pioneers to single digits for the second-straight quarter allowing just eight points. Lindsey Wilson had runs of 11-2 and 14-4 in the third quarter as they led 78-25 going into the fourth.

Lindsey Wilson outscored the Pioneers 13-4 in the final 10 minutes for the 91-29 victory.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Friday at the UC Bank Classic at 7 p.m. CT against Shawnee State (Ohio) at Biggers Sports Center.
