DAYTON, Tenn. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team rallied in the ninth inning to come away with a 10-9 victory over (RV) Bryan Tuesday at Senter Field.
The Blue Raiders (6-6) trailed 9-7 heading into the ninth.
Jaden Cockerel reached on a leadoff error and Duran doubled putting runners on second and third.
Bryce Sidler drove in a run to make it 9-8. Lindsey Wilson tied the game when
Nazhir Bergen reached on a dropped third strike and Duran scored.
Matthew Schultz then hit a sacrifice fly to give Lindsey Wilson a 10-9 lead.
Reed Marcum retired the first two Lions (9-5) batters in the bottom of the ninth. Bryan then had runners on second and third after a single, a walk and a wild pitch. Marcum got the next batter to popup to get the victory.
Chance Stayton led the Blue Raiders going 4-for-6 and recording two RBIs.
Jackson Steele had a pair of hits while driving in two.
Andres Duran and Brice Sidler each recorded two hits as well. Marcum picked up the win pitching two innings allowing just one hit and two walks and striking out a pair.
Duran got the Blue Raiders on the board in the second hitting his first home run of the season to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 lead. Following a pair of ground outs to begin the top of the third, Stayton singled and Wall drew a walk. Steele then drove in Stayton with a single to give the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead.
Lindsey Wilson added three runs in the top half of the fourth. The bases were loaded after two singles and a walk when
Sam Gage drove in a run to increase the Blue Raider lead to 3-0. Stayton made 4-0 with an RBI-single and Steele also drove in a run to give Lindsey Wilson a 5-0 lead. The Lions got on the board in the home half of the fourth with a leadoff home run and a double which trimmed the Blue Raider advantage to 5-2. Bryan added two more runs in the fifth to make it 5-4.
Back-to-back walks to begin the sixth put runners on first and second for the Blue Raiders. Stayton then doubled scoring Schultz to push the Lindsey Wilson lead to 6-4. Steele hit a sacrifice-fly to give the Blue Raiders a 7-4 advantage. Bryan tied the game in the bottom of the sixth scoring three runs on three hits. The Lions scored two more in the seventh to take a 9-7 lead.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday when they host Goshen in the home opener at 3 p.m. CT at Egnew Park.
