MBB Cumberland Campbellsville

Men’s Basketball Travels to Cumberland Thursday; Hosts Campbellsville Saturday on Senior Day

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team faces off in two conference games this week. The Blue Raiders will first look for the season sweep at Cumberland (Tenn.) on Thursday followed by a rematch with Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday. Prior to tipoff on Saturday, the Blue Raider seniors, Bryce Brown and Rodney Lewis, will be recognized. 


The Blue Raiders are riding the momentum from last weekend that went down to the wire with Connor Robinson sinking a 3-pointer in the last seconds of the game to solidify a win for Lindsey Wilson completing the season sweep of No.13 ranked Georgetown. In the first half, the game was tied shooting 44.4% from the field and 37.5% on three point shots. After the break, the blue and white improved from the floor shooting 59.1% from the field and 50% on three point shots. The Blue Raiders had 3 double digit point performers in Robinson (25), Brown (12), and Kenyata Carbon (10).

Cumberland enters play 6-15 overall and are 2-5 in the Mid-South Conference.  The two teams met back on Jan. 27 with the Blue Raiders picking up a 91-78 victory. Cumberland's Demarius Boyd had a 37 point performance matching the school's single game record. Lindsey Wilson was led by Brown who scored 22 points.

Campbellsville is 15-7 overall winning the last meeting between the two 68-59 on Jan. 25 in Campbellsville.. Jace Wallace's double- double led the team with 25 points and 12 rebounds.Johrdon Mumford led Lindsey Wilson with 17 points.  The Blue Raiders defense proved to be opportunistic, having forced 15 turnovers but it was the Tigers who capitalized, scoring more points off turnovers. Campbellsville is  3-4 against conference opponents and their record sinks to 0-3 when playing on the road. 

Thursday's game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. CST, and  will be streamed live on the Cumberland Sports Network. Saturday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST at Biggers Sports Center and  will be broadcasted live on the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network.
