COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson baseball team heads to Montogomery, Alabama to take on Faulkner in a four-game series Friday and Saturday at Harrison Field.

The series gets underway with a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. CT and wraps up on Saturday with a doubleheader taking place at Noon CT.

Lindsey Wilson enters the series with a 2-2 record after splitting its season-opening series with St. Andrews. The Blue Raiders took the first two games of the series on Feb. 3 winning 10-1 and 4-0.  Lindsey Wilson pitching dominated the first two games as the Blue Raiders combined for 24 strikeouts led by Cohen Achen who recorded 14. Achen moved up to second on the program's career strikeout list. In game two, Jonathan Phipps pitched all seven innings allowing just three hits and striking out nine. The Blue Raiders closed out the series dropping a doubleheader on Feb. 4 11-4 and 3-0.

Sam Gage is leading the Blue Raiders through the first four games this season batting .364 and driving in four runs. Chance Stayton has also recorded four RBIs through four games and is batting .333 while Andres Duran is batting .300.

Faulkner enters play after completing a season-opening three-game sweep of Oakwood on Feb. 1-2. The Eagles outscored Oakwood 68-3 over the three games winning 25-1, 21-1 and 22-1. Orlando Lorduy batted .700 in the three games driving in seven runs. Johnny Lopez drove in 10 runs and is batting .400.

The Blue Raiders and the Eagles have met 15 times previously with Faulkner holding an 8-7 advantage in the series. The two teams last met back on Feb. 14, 2020 where Faulkner swept a doubleheader.
