HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The No. 8 ranked Lindsey Wilson men's golf team opened the Spring portion of its schedule with a victory at the Carey Collegiate Classic Tuesday at Canebrake Country Club.

The Blue Raiders finished with a 10-under par 842 (279-272-291) on the par-71 6,932 yard course. Lindsey Wilson edged out runner-up Dalton State by one shot. The Blue Raiders carded the most birdies in the tournament with 54.

Along with the Blue Raiders, eight teams in the field are ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25. Dalton State (Ga.) is No. 1, Truett-McConnell is fifth, Cumberland (Tenn.) is 10th Point (Ga.) is ranked 12th, William Carey (Miss.) is ranked 17th while Taylor (Ind.), Reinhardt (Ga.) and Tennessee Wesleyan are all receiving votes.

Callum Waugh captured the individual title with a 7-under 206 (68-67-71). Waugh tied with Faulkner's Rudolphe Cicala and Waugh defeated Cicala in a playoff to claim the title. He led the tournament recording 17 birdies.

Toby White finished tied for fourth with a 210 (70-67-73) and Rio Saigal was tied for 11th with a 212 (71-67-74). Adam Hawthorne – competing as an individual – and Milan Reed each finished tied for 15th with 214. Reed led the field carding 46 pars over the three rounds. Rafe Blankenship rounds out the Blue Raider scoring with a 218 (72-71-75).
