COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team captured the Blue Raider Spring Invitational title on Tuesday at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders shot a 16-under 268 in the third round on the par-71 6,598 yard course. Lindsey Wilson finished with an 18-under 834 (280-286-268) defeating runner-up Cumberlands by 24 shots. The Blue Raiders' 268 is a season-best and matches the fifth-lowest score in program history. Lindsey Wilson led the field going -7 on par 4s and were 21-under on par 5s.
Milan Reed captured the individual title carding a 6-under 207 (69-68-70). Reed earns his second win of the year. He carded the most pars with 42 and totaled nine birdies in the tournament.
Callum Waugh (73-73-64) and
Rio Saigal (68-74-68) finished tied for fifth with a 210. Waugh's 64 is his second-lowest score this season. Saigal and Waugh tied for the most birdies in the tournament with 13 and each tallied an eagle.
Rafe Blankenship finished tied for seventh with a 213 (72-75-66) while
Toby White was tied for ninth with a 214 (71-71-72).
Lindsey Wilson's B team finished fourth with an 885 (296-298-291).
Charlie Jones carded a 215 (74-71-70) to finish 12th while Adam Hawthorn finished 13th with a 216 (68-76-72).
Evan Kidd tied for 18th finishing with a 222 (79-75-68),
Briley Sharpe tied for 38th carding a 235 (76-76-83) and
AJ Shagool tied for 41st with a 236 (78-77-81).
Jarrett Napier,
Adam Rogers and
Chase Carpenter all competed as individuals. Napier placed 50th with a 247, Rogers was 53rd carding a 261 and Carpenter finished 54th.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on April 8 for the Road Runner Classic in Rocky Face, Ga.
