BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The fourth-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team was defeated by No. 5 seed Campbellsville 86-79 in the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Quarterfinals Saturday at Studle Financial Arena.
Bryce Brown led the Blue Raiders with a game-high 25 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Brown connected on 7-of-9 shots from the charity stripe.
Kenyata Carbon was in double figures with 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting and converted on all eight of his attempts from the charity stripe.
Connor Robinson was also in double figures with 13 points on 80 percent shooting (4-of-5).
Campbellsville took an 11-6 lead early in the first half following a 9-2 run. Lindsey Wilson answered scoring the next five points tying the game at 11 with 12:33 to play in the half. The Tigers scored nine of the next 10 points to lead 20-12. Lindsey Wilson trimmed the deficit to 23-18 before Campbellsville rattled off a 14-1 run increasing its lead to 37-19 with 2:21 to play in the half. The Blue Raiders ended the first half on a 6-2 run to trail 39-25.
The Tigers scored first in the second half to increase their lead to 41-25 before the Blue Raiders went on a 7-2 run to trim the Campbellsville lead to 43-32 with 17:41 to play. The two teams exchanged baskets as Campbellsville led 62-46 with 10:06 remaining.
Lindsey Wilson stormed back going on a 14-2 run that lasted 3:34 to and trimmed the Campbellsville lead to 64-60 with 6:32 to play. Campbellsville scored six of the next eight points taking a 70-62 lead with 5:21 remaining. The Blue Raiders answered going on an 8-3 run to trim its deficit to 73-70 with under four minutes left. A Campbellsville three made it 76-70 before Lindsey Wilson put together a 6-2 run with making in 78-76 with 2:13 left. The Tigers ended the game on an 8-3 run.
The Blue Raiders season comes to an end with a record of 15-13.
