COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team increased their win streak to nine this afternoon after defeating University of the Cumberlands 7-0, making their record 12-2, and currently remain undefeated at home.
The Blue Raiders won all of their doubles matches, leaving the third incomplete with Lindsey Wilson up 4-3 as Anastasiia Vorobiova and Darija Mladenovic took the first win 6-1 and Heyka Rodriguez and Mariangeles Mateu won their match 6-4, earning the Blue Raiders the doubles point.
Vorobiova led off the Blue Raiders sweep of singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Marina Nagai on court one, quickly followed up by Reshma Challarapu with a win on court three over Lucy Stojic. Mateu got the third singles win on court two over Eva Cancarevic and Rodriguez won her match at sixth racket 6-4, 6-1. Mladenovic defeated Yu Fang Liu 6-3, 6-4 at fourth racket and Anastasiia Ivachenko rounded off the win with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Blanca Lopez at fifth racket.
The Blue Raiders will play again on Tuesday, Match 25 at 11 a.m. CST at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex, taking on Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) for the first time since 2006.
