COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson men's tennis' winning streak ended today with a
5-2 setback to No. 22-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders (9-4) notched the first point of the day by winning two of the three doubles matches and the third one was not completed. Jan Silhavy and Miquel Perez did not give up a game in court one, while Anatoliy Voloshyn and Logan Engela won 6-3 in court three.
LWC went 1-5 in singles as the only player who managed to win was Jan Sihavy in court one, where he gave up the first set 4-6 but came back and won the other two 6-2 and 6-1. The Patriots (13-5) got the best of the remaining four singles matches where they only dropped one set, it was in court five where Voloshyn grabbed the second set.
The loss ended Lindsey Wilson's three-match winning streak and this marks their first loss in conference this season.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action tomorrow, March 26 at 2 p.m. CT as the Blue Raiders receive (RV) Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho).
