ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- No. 12-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's tennis dropped just one set this afternoon in a 7-0 sweep of host Missouri Baptist at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center
The only dropped set for the Blue Raiders came in doubles action. Lindsey Wilson (7-2) rebounded from the dropped set to win the remaining two doubles matches to win the doubles point and take the momentum into singles.
Mariangeles Mateu and Heyka Rodriguez improved to 7-2 on the season in doubles with their 6-2 win over Mia McIsaac and Mariana Azevedo on court three.
Darija Mladenovic and Reshma Challarapu secured the doubles point with a 6-4 victory over Jocelynn Carmody and Nina Vasiljkovic in the second-seeded match, giving the Blue Raiders a 1-0 team advantage.
With the point in hand, the Blue Raiders dominated the singles action with six straight-set wins.
Salome Sposetti picked up the first singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout on court six. The win is Sposetti's first action this season.
After Anastasiia Ivanchenko won on court five 6-1, 6-0 over Azevedo, Mateu matched Sposetti's result with her own 6-0, 6-0 win on court two to give Lindsey Wilson the 4-0 lead and team win.
Challarapu, Mladenovic, and Anastasiia Vorobiova all won their matches to cap the 7-0 win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 9, as the Blue Raiders travel to No. 22-ranked William Woods (Mo.) in Fulton, Missouri.
