BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The 2024 season for the Lindsey Wilson baseball team has come to an end after falling to Campbellsville 7-3 in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Friday at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The game lasted seven hours and featured a pair of rain delays. Lindsey Wilson closes out the season with a 19-26 record.
Andres Duran and
Bryce Sidler each recorded a pair of hits and drove in a run.
Sam Gage drove in the other run for Lindsey Wilson.
The Blue Raiders and Tigers got through the first inning before entering into an hour-long rain delay. Campbellsville got on the board first in the bottom of the second scoring on a Lindsey Wilson error. The game went into another rain delay in the bottom of the second that lasted for several hours.
Koby Wall recorded the first hit of the game for Lindsey Wilson in the fourth inning. The Blue Raiders got on the board in the fifth inning.
Caden Davis drew a one-out walk. Following a ground out, Gage singled to right field scoring Davis.
Lindsey Wilson took advantage of a two-out error in the top of the sixth. After the first two Blue Raiders were retired,
Chance Stayton reached on a throwing error by the Tigers. Duran doubled to left field scoring Stayton and giving Lindsey Wilson a 2-1 lead. Sidler then brought home Duran giving the Blue Raiders a 3-1 lead.
Campbellsville took a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning on a three-run home run. The Tigers added three more runs in the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly and a two-run home run to increase their lead to 7-3.
