Waleska, Ga. - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team opened its 2024-25 season with a victory at the Eagle Open on Tuesday at Lake Arrowhead Y.C.C Tuesday afternoon.
The Blue Raiders finished with a 6-under par 846 (285-282-279) on the par-71 course to lead all teams. Lindsey Wilson's 279 in the final round was the lowest score of the two-day tournament.
Mid-South Conference member Campbellsville (Ky.) finished runner-up with an 862, while Reinhardt (Ga.), Faulkner (Ala.), and SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) rounded out the top five.
Rio Saigal led all golfers by shooting an 11-under 202 (67-66-69). Saigal finished the tournament with 15 birdies, adding five in the final round. He defeated runner-up Rodolphe Cicala from Faulkner by six shots.
Toby White 214 (68-71-75) and Johan Bredenkamp 214 (74-69-71) finished tied for sixth. Maciej Janusiewicz who is competing individually recorded a 223(78-75-70) and Stanley White shot a 226(76-79-71) as both made huge day two leaps to finish in the top 25. Adam Hawthorn moved up 12 spots in the final round to finish in 26th with a 227 (83-76-68).
The Blue Raiders are back in action Sept. 9 for the Lindsey Wilson College Fall Classic at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson.
