COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team closes out its four-game homestand against Cumberland (Tenn.) in a Mid-South Conference matchup Saturday at 3 p.m. CT at Biggers Sports Center.
The Blue Raiders enter play with a 12-5 overall record and are off to a 0-2 start in MSC play. Lindsey Wilson was last in action on Jan. 11 falling to Campbellsville 63-60.
Julian Cunningham scored a game-high 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field while going 4-of-6 from three.
Kenyata Carbon and
Connor Robinson were in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Daivel Jackson grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds in the loss.
Jackson leads the conference averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. Carbon and Cunningham rank third and fifth in the MSC averaging 17.5 and 16.6 points per game, respectively. At Biggers Sports Center, Carbon averages 17.1 points per game while Cunningham averages 16.8.
Cumberland is 9-8 this season and is off to a 2-0 start in conference play. The Phoenix defeated Campbellsville 76-65 on Thursday. Cumberland trailed 39-29 at halftime and outscored the Tigers 47-26 over the final 20 minutes. Jalen Anglin scored a game-high 21 points while Demarius Boyd added 20. Boyd ranks second in the MSC averaging 19.4 points per game while Khi Wallace is second in rebounds with 7.7 per game.
Lindsey Wilson is 38-18 all-time against Cumberland at 23-6 at home. The Blue Raiders have won three straight against the Phoenix including a 91-78 victory at Biggers Sports Center last season.
