COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team opens Mid-South Conference play against No. 1 Georgetown (Ky.) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CST at Biggers Sports Center.
With the Blue Raiders averaging 86.7 points per game they will need a fast start to remain on pace with the Tiger offense. Head coach
Chris Starks has emphasized defense throughout the season, and that focus will be key once again. The Blue Raiders only allow opponents 69.6 points per game while holding field goal percentages to just 39.5 percent from the field. To pull off an upset against the Tigers, the Blue Raiders must take advantage of every opportunity.
Georgetown will look to senior guard Jaquias Franklin, their leading scorer at 16.2 points per game to set the tone. Supporting Franklin are three other double-digit scorers Jabrion Spikes, Darien Lewis, and Tae Dozier to help push the Tigers past the Blue Raiders. With Lindsey Wilson being the number two ranked defense in the conference, the Blue Raiders plan to stick to their strengths and to give the Tigers a hard time as the game progresses.
