Volleyball Travels East for Tri-Match with Indiana Kokomo and Kentucky Christian

10/10/2025 3:00:00 PM

COLUMBIA, Ky. – For the first time since being ranked 25th in the NAIA Coaches' Poll on October 1, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball team will challenge another top-25 team on Saturday when the Blue Raiders travel to Grayson, Kentucky for a tri-match with Kentucky Christian and No. 20 Indiana Kokomo.

Lindsey Wilson – 20-5, 4-1 Mid-South – comes into the weekend on a three-match winning streak, during which the Blue Raiders have outhit their opponents 0.205 to 0.106.

Senior Ola Wyrzykowska, who tallied her 1,000th-career digs on Wednesday, needs just five more kills to reach 1,000 in that statistical category. Only Elly Burke (2016-19) and Tiffany Cloud (2000-03) have 1,000 kills and digs in their Lindsey Wilson careers. Wyrzykowska can make that pair a trio very quickly on Saturday as she is averaging 3.91 kills per set over her last three matches.

Freshman Brooke Robinson is fresh off her first career double-double in the Blue Raiders' 3-1 win over Cumberland (Tenn.). The Lascassas, Tennessee native set season-highs for kills and digs in her effort.

Another stat to keep watch for is Momo Hampton's season digs total, which currently sits at 360. The junior is posting 4.00 digs per set – 4.55 over her last three outings – and is on pace to get to 500 by the end of the regular season in four weeks. The last Blue Raider to record 500 digs in a single season was Lauren Larzelere in 2019 – 601 digs.

Indiana Kokomo is riding an impressive winning streak of 11 matches entering Saturday. The Cougars are 4-4 this season when facing a team receiving votes or better in the national poll and boast the nation's 11th-best hitting percentage – 0.242.

Mya Grigsby and Mia Niekamp lead Indiana Kokomo on the attack with 217 and 212 kills, respectively. Allison Richman directs the offense behind her 512 assists, and Avery Littrell controls the back line with 231 digs.

Lindsey Wilson and Indiana Kokomo have met twice previously, both times in Columbia. The Blue Raiders won in 2017, 3-0, and in 2021, 3-1.

Kentucky Christian has not fared much better against Lindsey Wilson. All-time, the Blue Raiders are 3-0 against the Knights.

Back-to-back losses plague the Knights entering Saturday, including a 3-0 loss to Fisk (Tenn.), a team Lindsey Wilson bested earlier this season.

Saturday's tri-match begins at 1 p.m. CT from East Carter Middle School in Grayson, Kentucky when Lindsey Wilson takes on Indiana Kokomo.
