COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands (Ky.) are set to face-off on the volleyball court for the second time this season on Tuesday at Biggers Sports Center.
The 10
th-ranked Patriots and the 25
th-ranked Blue Raiders met back on September 23 in Williamsburg where the home team stood its ground for a 3-0 win. Since that meeting, Lindsey Wilson is 5-2 with three conference wins. Meanwhile, Cumberlands is still undefeated at 20-0 and have posted 15-straight sweeps dating back to August 30.
The Patriots' offense has been on a roll in 2025, currently sporting the nations No. 1 attack percentage at 0.318. Over the last four matches, alone, Cumberlands is hitting 0.414 with twice as many kills per set.
Middle hitters Kara Gipson (0.478) and Alana Shiery (0.408) rank first and third, respectively, in the Mid-South Conference for attack percentage, and Sara Zampedri leads the league in kills per set (3.83).
Reigning Mid-South Setter of the Week Savanah Jolly turned in a stat line of 32 assists, 24 digs, and six kills when Cumberlands hosted Lindsey Wilson earlier this season. The junior sits with the nation's third-best assists per set ratio of 11.2.
Senior Davey Slaughter anchors the Patriot defense from the libero position, averaging 4.11 digs per set.
As for Lindsey Wilson, senior
Ola Wyrzykowska is hitting 0.257 over her last seven appearances. She is also second on the team with 81 digs and 13 service aces during that span.
Marija Raonic and
Brooke Robinson have been asked to cover more ground for the Blue Raiders on offense with recent injuries sitting out
Ana Clara Beltran Sacca and
Petra Fernandez Garcia. Robinson had 12 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks in last Wednesday's win over Cumberland (Tenn.), while Raonic contributed 10 kills, eight digs, and two blocks against the Phoenix.
Historically, when Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands have met during the regular season, the winner of the first match has gone on to win the second 17 times in 19 instances.
Tuesday's action begins with the junior varsity match at 4 p.m. CT, followed by the varsity match at 6 p.m. CT.
