Men’s Soccer Hosts Freed-Hardeman in Quarterfinals of Mid-South Conference Tournament

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Men's soccer laces up their cleats inside Parnell Family Stadium to host the Lions of Freed-Hardeman at 7 P.M. CT for the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. 

Lindsey Wilson (11-2-1, MSC 4-2) is on a three-game win streak headed into the MSC Tournament, with its most recent win coming 4-1 against Freed-Hardeman on Saturday in Henderson, Tennessee. Dominic Ayella leads the offense during conference play, totaling five goals and one assist. Michael Rempel and Milan Diao have contributed two assists apiece in MSC play. MSC Defensive Player of the Week, Francois Djiba, has started and played in six conference matches, yielding a 3-1-0 record, allowing just five goals, and tallying 17 saves. 

Freed-Hardeman (10-6-1, MSC 1-5) is on a four-game losing streak. The Lions have lost their last three games to MSC opponents No.14 Cumberland (Tenn.) 4-0 on Oct. 14, No.6 Cumberlands (Ky.) 3-1 on Oct. 20, and their most recent defeat came to No.5 Lindsey Wilson 4-1 on Saturday. Samuel Sebagabo and Martin Theissen have tallied two goals apiece in conference play, while Thabo Mahlaha has contributed three assists. Eduardo Almansa has been the only goal keeper in conference play for FHU, holding a 1-5-0 MSC record, allowing 20 goals and totaling 32 saves. 

Tonight's match marks the seventh all-time meeting between the clubs. The Blue Raiders hold the all-time record, sitting at 6-0. Lindsey Wilson has only allowed the Lions three goals when hosting, and has outscored FHU 29 to five.

The Blue Raiders will take the field at 7 P.M. CT inside Parnell Family Stadium to face the Lions of Freed-Hardeman in the quarterfinals of the MSC Tournament.
