WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- Women's Basketball defeated (RV) Milligan (Tenn.) 81-67 Thursday night on the first day of the Patriots Classic in Williamsburg (Ky.).

Meadow Tisdale posted a double-double, tallying 18 points and 11 rebounds on 6-of-9 shooting and 1-of-1 from the three point line. Amelia Hodges and Claire Fleming were the other Blue Raiders in double digits with 17 and 13, respectively. Hodges went 3-for-3 from behind the arc and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe while Fleming went 5-for-7 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. 

Tisdale opened the scoring 19 seconds into the first quarter with a layup, giving LWU an early 2-0 lead. Milligan's Semaj Clark answered back with a three pointer to take a 3-2 lead at 9:13. Saniyah Shelton found the bottom of the net, followed by Tisdale again on a layup to increase the Blue Raider lead to 6-3 with 6:54 on the clock. With 5:06 remaining in the first, Hodges connected from behind the arc on an assist from Shelton, growing the lead to 13-6. Lindsey Wilson closed the quarter on a 9-4 run to lead 22-10. 

Taylor Guess connected on a layup at 9:34 to begin the Blue Raider scoring in the second. Tisdale bullied her way to the bucket again at 8:48 for a layup and a 26-10 lead. Hodges went up for a layup at 6:14, rebounded her own miss, and laid it back in at 6:12 to extend the lead to 30-16. Milligan went on a 4-0 run starting at 5:27 and ended at 4:35 on a layup by Emily Cox for a score of 32-20. The Blue Raiders closed out the half on a 9-5 run, taking a 41-25 lead into the locker room. 

Shelton began the second half scoring with a layup at 9:38, extending the lead to 43-25. Milligan answered back with an 11-4 run that lasted from 9:15 to 6:03 to cut the lead to 47-36. Hodges answered back with a three at 5:48 to push the lead back to 50-36. Milligan outscored Lindsey Wilson 14-13 to close out the third quarter, cutting the lead to 63-50 headed into the final 10 minutes of action. 

Tisdale knocked down two free throws with 8:36 remaining in regulation to extend the lead to 65-50. Milligan answered back with a 5-0 run to cut the lead to 10 with 6:40 to play. Lindsey Wilson outscored Milligan 18-17 in the fourth quarter for an 81-67 victory.

Women's basketball will be back in action tomorrow at Noon CT for day two of the Patriots Classic, facing (RV) Huntington (Ind.) inside the O. Wayne Rollins Center.
