Blue Raiders Beat Knights 82-62 in Bounce Back Win

COLUMBIA, Ky.- Women's basketball defeated Kentucky Christian 82-62 in Biggers Sports Center Tuesday Night.

Meadow Tisdale posted a 15 point and 12 rebound double-double to lead all scores on the night as well as rebounding. Taylor Guess and Jarie Thomas rounded out the double-digit scoring with 13 and 11 points, respectively. 

Lindsey Wilson started the game with four straight points in the first 34 seconds on layups from Tisdale and Claire Fleming. At 9:13 and 8:45 the Knights answered back with layups of their own to tie the game at 4-4. From 8:25 to 7:15, both teams continued to trade buckets, keeping the game tied until the Blue Raiders went on a 10-2 run that lasted from 5:44 to 2:06, giving them an 18-10 advantage. Lindsey Wilson ended the first quarter of action with a 22-14 lead.

Saniyah Shelton knocked down a free throw with 9:27 to play before the half, followed by a layup from Thomas on an assist from Amelia Hodges for a 25-14 game with 8:57 on the clock. The Blue Raiders closed out the first half on an 8-5 run to lead 42-26 headed into the halftime break. 

At 9:08 Tisdale converted on a tough bucket in the paint to spark a 16-6 run at 9:26 that lasted until 3:52, growing the Lindsey Wilson advantage to 58-34. With 2:47 in the third, Tisdale connected on a layup assisted by Guess followed by another Tisdale layup, assisted by Shelton at 2:10, growing the lead to 62-37. Both teams put up four points apiece to close out the quarter 66-41. 

Lindsey Wilson went on to defeat the Knights 82-62, despite Kentucky Christian outscoring the Blue Raiders 20-16 in the fourth quarter. LWU kept the Knights at bay on the boards, outrebounding them 60-36.

Women's hoops will be back in action on Saturday in Owensboro to face the Bearcats of Brescia at 3 P.M. CT.
