Men’s Basketball Hosts Simmons College of Kentucky on Wednesday

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team welcomes Simmons College of Kentucky to Biggers Sports Center on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. CT matchup.
 
The Blue Raiders (5-1) are coming off an 83-60 exhibition loss at NCAA Division II Lee (Tenn.) on Monday. Kenyata Carbon led the Blue Raiders with 12 points, while Mihail Gavazov added 11. DJ Gordon was also in double figures with 10 points while Victory Naboya added two blocks.
 
This season, Lindsey Wilson is 4-0 inside Biggers Sports Center and averages 87.3 points per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field. The Blue Raiders are allowing 69.3 points per game at home and holding opponents to a 39.6 field goal percentage. Julian Cunningham leads the Lindsey Wilson offense at home, averaging 15.3 points per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. Carbon is averaging 14.3 points while Naboya is contributing 11 points per game.
 
The Falcons enter play with a 3-4 record and are coming off a 67-62 victory over Wilberforce on November 15. Simmons shot 45.5 percent and struggled from beyond the arc, going just 3-of-14 (21.4%). Gavin Withrow and Brandon Thomas were the only Falcons in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Jonathan Thomas grabbed a game-high seven rebounds, while Withrow tallied a game-high four assists.
 
Simmons is averaging 71.1 points per game while allowing 75.9 per game. The Falcons shoot 44 percent from the field while opponents are shooting 46.1 percent. Franklin Sampson leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points per game, while Jonathan Johnson leads the team in rebounding with 6.4.
 
Wednesday's matchup is the sixth all-time meeting between the two schools and the first since November 25, 2023. Lindsey Wilson has won all five of the previous matchups with four of the victories coming in Biggers Sports Center.
