Volleyball Hosts Campbellsville in Regular Season Finale

11/4/2025 9:00:00 AM

COLUMBIA, Ky. – After a pair of conference wins over the weekend, the Lindsey Wilson women's volleyball team's playoff picture is becoming clear. There is just one more thing to do in order for the Blue Raiders to lock up the No. 2 seed in next week's Mid-South tournament. Win.

A victory over "Highway 55" rival Campbellsville at Biggers Sports Center not only solidifies Lindsey Wilson's place in the conference standings. The Blue Raiders' winning streak extends to four matches and a loss to the Tigers from less than two weeks ago is avenged.

Campbellsville – 20-12, 7-3 MSC – has won four straight entering Tuesday, and six of its last seven. Junior Elif Akcivi's 3.85 kills per set and 0.388 attack percentage through the active winning streak is pacing the Tigers' offense, while reigning Mid-South Defender of the Week Sophie Hill patrols the net with 18 blocks and 21 kills in her last four outings.

Freshmen Kati Vest and Maddie Pennington led Campbellsville with 31 assists and 13 digs, respectively, when the Tigers hosted Lindsey Wilson on October 23.

The Blue Raiders – 27-9, 8-3 MSC – feature some of the conference's best statistical leaders. Ola Wyrzykowska (461 kills), Luiza Gonçalves (1,027 assists), and Momo Hampton (498 digs) each stand atop the Mid-South in their primary statistical categories.

Marija Raonic is hitting 0.365 with 25 kills through her last three matches and Sofija Pjevic's 10 blocks (1.25/s) over the same time frame is a team-best.

Lindsey Wilson aims to win a second straight against Campbellsville at home. The Blue Raiders overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Tigers in five sets on September 10, 2024.

Following Tuesday's junior varsity match at 4 p.m. CT, and 20 minutes prior to the first serve of varsity at 6 p.m. CT, the Lindsey Wilson volleyball program will recognize its 2025 senior class of Petra Fernandez Garcia, Gonçalves, Jayla Sheckles, Wiktoria Stankiewicz, Monika Szwarc, Michaela Tracy, and Wyrzykowska.

The Lindsey Wilson Sports Network will carry live coverage.
