NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell 87-75 to Indiana University Southeast on Monday night in New Albany, Indiana.
The Blue Raiders (8-4) were led by
Kenyata Carbon, who's first bucket of the game early in the first half made him the 16th player in the program history to score 1,000 career points. The junior scored a game-high 25 points and added four assists as he is the first Blue Raider to reach 1,000 career points since Payton Cundiff in 2022.
Julian Cunningham finished with 10 points and three steals, while
Mihail Gavazov contributed 11 points off the bench.
Lindsey Wilson got off to a strong start, taking an early lead behind baskets from Carbon and
Olson Nicholson. IU Southeast responded with a run midway through the first half, fueled by three-pointers from Camden Pfeister and Nathaniel Hoffman, to take control of the game. The Grenadiers closed the half on an 8-4 run to lead 43-34 at the break.
The Blue Raiders opened the second half with a quick 5-0 burst to cut the deficit to four, but IU Southeast answered with a 16-7 stretch led by Trent Hinkle, who finished with 24 points and 10 assists. The Grenadiers stayed hot from beyond the arc, hitting 15 threes in the game to keep Lindsey Wilson from closing the gap.
Lindsey Wilson returns to Biggers Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 20, to host Union Commonwealth University (Ky.) at 3 p.m. CT.
