COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson athletics finished the fall semester in a tie for 13th place in NAIA Learfield College Directors' Cup standings, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) officials announced on Tuesday.
The Blue Raiders tallied 204 points during the fall championships, -- which include men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball. The point total show an improvement of 115 points from last fall, while the hold on 13th place is 36 spots higher than a year ago.
Lindsey Wilson scored in four of the six sports during the fall.
The football team led the way with 65 points after reaching the Quarterfinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series. The Blue Raider women's soccer team tallied 64 points after reaching the Round of 16 in the NAIA National Championship.
Lindsey Wilson men's soccer totaled 50 points while the Blue Raider women's volleyball team accounted for 25 points.
Indiana Wesleyan is first after the fall with 425 points. Cumberlands (Ky.) is second with 385 points, followed by College of Idaho's 333.5 points. Marian (Ind.) and The Master's (Calif.) complete the top five with 296.5 and 270 points, respectively.
Three other Mid-South Conference institutions scored points during the fall. Cumberland (Tenn.) is 36th with 114 points, Campbellsville (Ky.) is 64th with 70 points, and Bethel(Tenn.) is 67th with 64 points.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NAIA Championships.
