Men's Basketball Hosts Freed-Hardeman for Senior Day

2/14/2025 4:00:00 PM

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team welcomes No.4 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) for a Mid-South Conference battle inside Biggers Sports Center at 3 p.m. CST on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders are coming off a 94-78 home loss against No.19 Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday. In a crucial game for the Blue Raiders as the postseason nears, Lindsey Wilson has to come through against the Lions (21-4, 6-3 MSC) to build their resume. Leading scorer Kenyata Carbon, who is averaging 16.6 points per game, was unavailable against Freed-Hardeman in the first matchup where the Blue Raiders fell to the Lions 76-69. He looks to make a big difference in this meeting as Julian Cunningham is listed as questionable with injury after having a season-high 33 points against the Lions back on January 25. His presence will undoubtedly help the Blue Raiders if he is active.

Lindsey Wilson brings in the best 3-point shooting team and the fourth-best defense in the MSC to take down the fourth-ranked team in the NAIA. The Blue Raiders aim to shoot the ball effectively in this matchup after the Lions came back in a second half in which Lindsey Wilson shot 26.9 percent from the floor.

The Lions are led by five double-digit scorers, including Peyton Law, who averages 16.0 points per game. While Freed-Hardeman is dominant at home (12-1), their 5-3 record on the road presents an opportunity for the Blue Raiders to pull off an upset.

Prior to the 3 p.m. CST tip-off on Saturday, the Blue Raiders will recognize Jacoby Harris, Daivel Jackson, Matt Khoury, Connor Robinson, Chukwudalu Egbejiogu, Johrdon Mumford, Isaac Weaver, and Jackson Edwards for "Senior Day".

Live video and stats will be provided by the Lindsey Wilson Sports Network and fans can listen live on 101.9 FM WAIN.
