Lindsey Wilson Set to Clash with Campbellsville in the “Battle of Highway 55”

2/20/2025 10:05:00 AM

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team is set to face in-conference rival Campbellsville in the highly anticipated "Battle of Highway 55" on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CST in the Powell Athletic Center.

The Blue Raiders (15-11, 2-8 Mid-South Conference) enter the matchup on a three-game losing streak, looking to regain momentum as the postseason approaches. To secure a victory, the Blue Raiders will need to play disciplined, aggressive basketball against a Campbellsville team that beat them 63-60 in their previous meeting on Jan. 11. In that game, Lindsey Wilson shot just 39.6 percent from the field and committed 17 turnovers, mistakes they look to correct this next matchup

Offensively, the Blue Raiders average 81.0 points per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc. Lindsey Wilson has three players averaging double figures in conference play led by Kenyata Carbon averaging 15.6 points per game. Julian Cunningham averages 13.4 points per game while Daivel Jackson adds 11.6. Jackson also averages 7.5 rebounds per game in conference play.  Head coach Chris Starks preaches a defensive-minded, fast-paced, and fundamental basketball approach that will be crucial in this must-win matchup. With the regular season winding down, both teams find themselves near the bottom of the conference standings, making this game an important one in their push for a late-season turnaround.

Campbellsville (11-16, 2-9 MSC) is led by guard Kam Vick who averages 16.4 points per game. He is joined by a trio of double-digit scorers with Cobe Penny averaging 14.6 points per game, Dalton Kramer with 13.3 points per game, and Jay Milburn tallying 11.8 points per game. The Tigers are coming off a loss to Georgetown (Ky.) and will be ready to bounce back against the Blue Raiders. With the postseason right around the corner, Thursday's game promises to be a hard-fought battle between two teams looking to find their momentum at the right time.

The Blue Raiders will be back in action on the road Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CST to take on
Campbellsville (Ky.) in Powell Athletic Center.
