Lindsey Wilson Men's Basketball Faces Cumberland in Season Finale Showdown

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team hits the road in the season finale Saturday against Mid-South Conference opponent Cumberland (Tenn.) at 3 p.m. CST in Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena. 

With Lindsey Wilson (15-12, 2-9 MSC) on its longest losing streak of the season at four games, the Blue Raiders will hope to turn things around as tournament time is right around the corner. Team leader in rebounds Daivel Jackson is coming off a double-double against conference rival Campbellsville (Ky.) Thursday after scoring 21 with a game-high 10 rebounds and looks to repeat the same success to dominate down low against the Phoenix. In the last meeting on January 18, the Blue Raiders defeated Cumberland 84-75 led by Jackson who had 26 points and 10 rebounds. 


Lindsey Wilson is one of the better offensive shooting teams in the MSC sitting at fourth in the at 47.4 percent from the field while also shooting the best percentage from the arc with 37.3 percent. It's going to take a team effort as the Blue Raiders will need contributions from everybody especially leading scorer Kenyata Carbon averaging 16.6 points per game and leading assist man Julian Cunningham dishing out 3.8 assists per game. 



Cumberland (12-14,5-6 MSC) enters the game with a scrappy group as they have taken down No.1 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and No.3 Georgetown (Ky.). The Blue Raiders will need to make sure they execute every aspect of the game. Cumberland is led by Red-shirt Senior guard Damarius Boyd who averages 19.7 points per game. Followed by three double-digit scorers Jalen Anglin dropping 15.4 points per game, Triston Conger with 14.3 points per game, and Khi Wallace contributing 10.0 points per game. With multiple scoring threats on the floor, the Blue Raiders will need to make sure they keep the Phoenix contained to get the victory.
