Men's Basketball Hits the Road Against Conference Foe No.3 Georgetown

020725 MBB Georgetown Preview

Men's Basketball | 2/7/2025 4:08:00 PM

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team travels to No. 3 Georgetown (Ky.) Tigers at 2 p.m. CT Saturday at Davis-Reid  Alumni Gym.

The Blue Raiders (15-8, 2-5 Mid-South Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday with an 85-65 victory over Ohio Christian.  Lindsey Wilson looks to find its footing in conference play to regain a positive record before hitting the conference tournament.

In their previous matchup, the Blue Raiders fell just short against the Tigers (22-1, 6-1 MSC), losing 73-69 despite a standout 27-point performance from Kenyata Carbon. He'll look to replicate that effort against the No. 3-ranked team in the NAIA. Meanwhile, big man Daivel Jackson has been on fire, averaging 19 points per game while shooting an impressive 71.3 percent from the field in the past two games. Julian Cunningham is the team's second-leading scorer averaging 15.9 points per game and the top playmaker with 3.8 assists per game, his ability to break down Georgetown's top-ranked MSC defense will be crucial.

The Tigers defeated Cumberlands at home 91-85 on Thursday. Georgetown enters with a talented roster led by Jaquias Franklin, who averages 15.1 points per game. The No. 3 Tigers have one of the most efficient offenses in the nation, ranking top-2 in the MSC and top-11 in NAIA shooting. For the Blue Raiders to pull off the upset, their defensive effort will need to be at its best against one of the country's elite teams.

Live stats are available for Saturday's game and video will be provided by Georgetown College Athletics.

The Blue Raiders and  Tigers tipoff at 2 p.m. CT Saturday at Davis-Reid  Alumni Gym.
