COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team secured its seventh consecutive victory with a dominant 7-0 sweep over McPherson (Kan.) on Wednesday evening at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex. The Blue Raiders (8-2) controlled the match from start to finish, sweeping both doubles and singles without dropping a set.

Lindsey Wilson grabbed an early lead by sweeping doubles, starting with the No. 8-ranked duo of Heyka Rodriguez and Anastasiia Vorobiova earning a 6-1 win at No. 1. The No. 3-ranked pairing of Mayra Gisone and Anastasiia Ivanchenko followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 2, and No. 22-ranked Aina Domingo Bernabeu and Mariangeles Mateu closed out the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win at No. 3.

Mateu, ranked No. 20 nationally, extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Domingo Bernabeu, ranked No. 17, followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1. Vorobiova, ranked No. 15, then clinched the match at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-4 win.

Ivanchenko kept the momentum going with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, followed by Gisone's 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5. Rodriguez wrapped up the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6.

The Blue Raiders will most likely return to action on Saturday. Their originally scheduled match against Freed-Hardeman on Thursday has been postponed. Additionally, their matchup against Campbellsville, originally set for Sunday, is expected to be moved to Saturday, pending confirmation from officials.
