Lindsey Wilson Drops Both Games in Twin Bill to Freed-Hardeman

HENDERSON, Tenn.- The Lindsey Wilson baseball team dropped both games of their doubleheader to Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) Friday, on Five Wells Field 8-1 and 9-0.

Matthew Schultz and Diego Andino paced the Blue Raider offense with two hits apiece on the day with Andino picking up the only RBI and Schultz scoring the lone Blue Raider run.

Game One: Freed-Hardeman 8, Lindsey Wilson 1
Lindsey Wilson remained scoreless until they struck first in the top of the third frame as Schultz walked and Andino doubled down the right field line for an early 1-0 advantage.

Kyle Lambert stayed solid on the mound, not giving up his first hit until the bottom of the fourth which was a single to second base, before retiring the side. Lambert held off the Lions until the bottom of the fifth frame, when he gave up a two-run home run, as Freed-Hardeman took a 2-1 lead and eventually extended it to 5-1.

Riley Monheimer stepped onto the mound in the bottom of the fifth to relieve Lambert and record the final out of the inning. Spencer Garner came in to relieve Monheimer in the bottom of the sixth, giving up three runs on three hits, as the Lions extended their lead to 8-1 and took the victory in seven innings.

Game Two: Freed-Hardeman 9, Lindsey Wilson 0
