ELKHART, Ind. – The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team leaped two spots on Saturday to finish the 2025 NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships in seventh place with 209 points.
The Blue Raiders landed four individual All-American honors on the final day of competition, including three in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
Sergio Ybarra,
Fabio Martin Rojo, and
Ethan Butler finished fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively, in the mile-long race. For Martin Rojo, the senior earns his fourth career All-American accolade in the event. He previously garnered his fourth top-eight finish in the 500-yard freestyle earlier in the week, bringing his career All-American total to a dozen.
"This was a hard week, and it was an intense week for all of us," says Martin Rojo. "But through it all, I am so proud of this team because despite all the hardships, we came through and left it all in the pool."
Butler, a sophomore, collects his second consecutive All-American finish in the mile after posting a personal-best time of 15:56.45, while Ybarra scores his first All-American award.
In the 200-yard breaststroke,
Clinton Eales joined former Blue Raider Jonas Mueller as an All-American in the event. The sophomore touched the wall in fifth place at 2:03.01 to earn his first career top-eight finish.
The Blue Raiders' team of Eales, Martin Rojo,
Dario Soria, and
Max van Schagen closed the evening in the 400-yard freestyle relay and placed ninth with a time of 3:05.32, just 0.32 seconds off their season-best. The effort in the final race of the week was enough to solidify seventh place for Lindsey Wilson.
"In that moment we were just focused on finishing the relay," explains Martin Rojo. "I've grown a lot at Lindsey Wilson, and I have become a better swimmer. This has been like a family to me."
