Baseball Travels to Pikeville for Tuesday Matchup

COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider baseball team heads to Johnnie LeMaster Field in Pikeville, Kentucky to take on the Bears of Pikeville University (Ky.) at 2 pm CT, Tuesday afternoon.

Lindsey Wilson (4-24) is taking a break between conference contests after dropping their away series to Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 20-10, 8-1, and 9-0. The Blue Raiders are led by Matthew Schultz with a .355 batting average with 27 hits in 76 at-bats. Schultz has 14 RBIs and four home runs this season. Andres Duran leads the team in both RBIs and home runs with 20 and five, respectively. Glenn Simes (2-5), leads the Blue Raiders on the mound this season, pitching a total of 37.2 innings and facing 171 batters. Simes leads the team in strikeouts with 31 and has an ERA of 8.36 , allowing 42 runs on 60 hits. 

Pikeville (15-18) is coming off of a series win to Montreat College (N.C.), after dropping game one 16-15, winning game two 13-0, and winning game three 11-6. Garren Gledhill leads the Bears offense with a .298 average on 31-of-104 from the plate, while tacking on 23 RBIs and three home runs. Austin Gurney leads the team in RBIs and home runs with 30 and 5, respectively. Isaac Berry has spent the most time on the mound this season for Pikeville, firing 46.2 innings and facing 193 batters. Berry has an ERA of 5.59, giving up 36 runs on 56 hits and striking out 37 while only walking 13. 

This will be the 53rd all-time match-up between the two programs, with the most recent contest being on March 4, 2025. In the last meeting, the Blue Raiders trailed 8-1 going into the seventh inning, tallied five runs and held Pikeville scoreless, and capped the game off with three more runs in the ninth, to come back and win 9-8. Lindsey Wilson and Pikeville are locked at 5-5 for the last ten match-ups. The Blue Raiders are 15-9 at Pikeville and average 6.81 runs. 

The first pitch will be thrown from the mound of Johnnie LeMaster Field at 2 pm CST, Tuesday for a single game meeting. Live stats and video will be available.
