WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The No. 6-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team claimed its 18th Mid-South Conference regular season title on Saturday after a 4-1 win over No. 15-ranked Cumberlands (Ky.) at the UC Tennis Complex. Marcal Miret delivered the clinch win for the Blue Raiders on court five.

The Blue Raiders (13-3, 6-0 MSC) secured the doubles point in quick fashion, winning on courts three and two. German Delcanto and Aldo Randazzo struck first with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, followed by a matching 6-2 victory from No. 28-ranked duo Miret and Jaume Barcelo on court two. The top-flight match featuring No. 22 Hans Schubert and Santiago Passoni was left unfinished with the Blue Raiders leading 5-3.

Leading 1-0 in the match, Lindsey Wilson extended its advantage to 2-0 behind No. 15-ranked Passoni, who knocked off No. 13 Juanchi Alcon 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 singles in a high-stakes ranked battle. Schubert followed with a strong 6-2, 7-5 win over No. 57 Liam Savio at the top line, pushing the lead to 3-0.

Cumberlands answered with its lone point of the afternoon at No. 3 singles, where No. 54-ranked Luis Marcos edged out No. 37 Delcanto in a tight 7-6 (9), 6-1 contest.

The match was clinched by Miret at No. 5 singles. The No. 22-ranked junior grinded out a 7-6 (11), 6-3 win over Darius Kuster to secure the team's fourth point and the regular season crown. At one point Miret was down 4-1 in the first set, but he managed to turn it around. Courts four and six were left unfinished following the clinch.

With the win, Lindsey Wilson closes out an unbeaten MSC regular season slate and finishes atop the conference standings for the 18th time in program history.

The Blue Raiders now shift focus to the Mid-South Conference Tournament, which begins Wednesday, April 23.
