COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider baseball team heads to Campbellsville (Ky.) for a Mid-South Conference doubleheader Thursday at Noon and 3 pm CST on HIG Baseball Field.
Lindsey Wilson (7-35, 2-13 MSC) is coming off of a 22-4 victory against Brescia University (Ky.) Tuesday. Bryce Sidler leads the Blue Raiders at the plate batting .351 on the season, with 47 hits in 134 plate appearances with nine doubles and 17 RBIs. Andres Duran leads in the RBI and home run category with 30 and 7, respectively. Glenn Simes has three of the six Blue Raider wins on the mound this season, pitching 50.1 innings with an ERA of 8.94. Simes has tallied 41 strikeouts, given up 20 walks, and allowed 57 runs on 86 hits.
Campbellsville (28-16, 5-9 MSC) picked up a 11-8 victory in their most recent contest against Indiana University Southeast. The Tigers are led offensively by Zane Skansi. Skansi is batting .371 one the season, going 53 for 143 in plate appearances, with 39 RBIs and 10 home runs. Henry Wright leads Campbellsville in RBIs with 40, while tallying 10 home runs. Garrett Maloney has been solid on the mound for the Tigers with a 7-2 record, facing 202 batters. Maloney holds an ERA of 3.52, allowing 22 runs on 44 hits, with 64 strikeouts and 13 walks.
May 3, 2024 marks the last contest between the two programs with Campbellsville taking the 7-3 victory. The Blue Raiders trail the Tigers 43-27 in the all-time series, averaging just 4.47 runs. Lindsey Wilson has won four of the last 10 match-ups and is 8-18 on HIG Field.
