COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team travels to Spring Arbor, Michigan to take on No.13 Spring Arbor University at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday at the Cougar Soccer Complex. 


The (RV) Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders (2-3-1) are coming off a strong 3-0 victory over Mid-South Conference opponent Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday. Lara Rocha recorded her first goals of the season in that match, completing a hat trick to lead the Blue Raiders' offense. Lindsey Wilson has been aggressive on the attack this year, averaging 14 shot attempts per game while limiting opponents to just 10.2.


Defensively, the Blue Raiders have done well controlling possession and keeping opponents away from the goal box. Their ability to dictate pace has resulted in opponents being held to just 16.4 shot attempts per match. With an aggressive offensive approach paired with steady possession, Lindsey Wilson has remained competitive throughout the season.


Spring Arbor (3-1-3) enters the matchup following a draw against Cornerstone University. Offensively, the Cougars are led by Karly Miller and Claire VanZanten, who have each tallied three goals this season. The team is averaging 1.86 goals per game while allowing 1.29. Spring Arbor ranks second in the Crossroads League in shot attempts, averaging 23.3 attempts per contest.


With both squads generating high shot volume, controlling possession and maintaining defensive discipline will likely be the deciding factors in this matchup.
