PRESTONSBURG, Ky. - The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's golf team finished third after the final round of play at the UPIKE Fall Invitational on Tuesday at StoneCrest Golf Course.
The Blue Raiders carded a 10-over par 862 (288-289-285) in the final round on the par-71, 6,841-yard course. Lindsey Wilson finished 13 shots behind host Pikeville (Ky.) and 12 shots behind runner-up NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.). The Blue Raiders were one of three teams to record multiple eagles. Lindsey Wilson carded the second-most pars (172) and had the third-best par-5 scoring at -12.
Stanley White finished tied for third, carding a 2-under 211 (73-69-69). White finished with 38 pars, tied for the third-most in the 54-hole tournament. White finished the tournament with eight birdies and recorded an eagle in the final round.
Polakrit Pawachai finished his tournament tied for sixth after carding a 216 (72-74-70). Pawachai finished tied for the third-best par-3 scoring at even par. Pawachai was able to finish his final round strong, carding an eagle on the 16th hole and a birdie on the 18th hole.
Toby White finished tied for eighth with a 217 (71-72-74). White finished with the second-most pars recorded at 39, while also carding six birdies throughout his three rounds.
Magnus Maahr – competing as an individual – also finished tied for eighth(70-74-73). Maahr finished tied for third place in par-4 scoring. He carded 11 birdies throughout his three rounds, which was tied for the seventh-most in the playing field.
Philip Kittoff Jr. finished tied for 16th place after carding a 220 (73-74-73). James Gibb was two shots behind Kittoff Jr, carding a 222 (72-77-73). Charlie Jones – competing as an individual – was able to finish in a tie for 35th place, carding a 231 (72-81-78).
The Blue Raiders are back in action for the Music City Collegiate beginning on Monday at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.
