COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson football team hits the road for the first time in 2025, heading to Ave Maria, Florida, to take on Ave Maria at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday at Gyrene Field.
The Blue Raiders enter play with a 1-0 record after defeating No. 10 Texas Wesleyan 45-10 on August 28. Lindsey Wilson totaled 497 yards of offense in the victory and marked the first time since September 14, 2024, that the Blue Raiders surpassed 400 yards. Khia Sherrard caught five passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Sherrard's 215 set a new program record, and his three touchdowns matched the program record.
Pryor Lamb became the first Blue Raider since 2021 to throw for over 300 yards, totaling 333 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensively, the Blue Raider defense limited the Rams to just 29 rushing yards.
Khaleb Bridges led the Blue Raiders with nine tackles.

Letavion Everly each recorded a sack. Everley and
Cameron Rankins each forced a fumble.
Through the first week, Lindsey Wilson ranks eighth in the NAIA in total yards with 497 and ninth in passing yards with 333. The 29 rushing yards allowed ranks fifth in the country.
Saturday marks the season opener for Ave Maria. Last season, Ave Maria went 3-7 and 2-5 in The Sun Conference, with all three of its victories coming at Gyrene Field. Last season, Ave Maria averaged 19.8 points per game while allowing 29.8 in 2024. Offensively in 2024, the Gyrenes averaged 284.9 yards per game and gave up 392.2 yards a game.
Saturday's matchup is the second all-time meeting between the two programs and the first at Ave Maria. The two teams last met on September 8, 2018, with the Blue Raiders picking up a 44-15 victory in Columbia.
