Blue Raiders Set for Key MSC Homestand Against No. 2 Freed-Hardeman and Bethel

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team returns home for a Mid-South Conference weekend homestand, hosting No. 2 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. CT and Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT inside Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (12-4, 2-0 MSC) enter the week on a four-game win streak after opening conference play with victories over Campbellsville and Cumberland (Tenn.). Lindsey Wilson remains one of the league's top offensive teams, averaging 84.5 points per game on 48.7 percent shooting while holding opponents to 75.8 points. The Blue Raiders also rank among the conference leaders in three-point percentage 38.0, free-throw percentage 73.5, and steals 8.6 per game.


Senior guard Kenyata Carbon continues to pace the offense with 20.3 points per game on 60 percent shooting, along with 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.3 steals. Julian Cunningham adds 12.4 points and leads the team in assists and steals, while Mihail Gavazov provides 11.4 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds. Latrell Kyles averages 10.7 points and 3.3 rebounds, and Victory Naboya contributes 9.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks to anchor the paint.


No. 2 Freed-Hardeman (17-1, 2-0 MSC) enters Thursday's matchup as one of the nation's most dominant programs, averaging 88.3 points per game while holding opponents to just 61.6  a +26.7 scoring margin that leads the Mid-South. The Lions shoot 49.9 percent from the field and force 22.3 turnovers per contest behind an aggressive defense that averages 13.8 steals and 4.3 blocks per game.


Sam Powell leads the Lions with 13.8 points per game and shoots 40.7 percent from three-point range. Phil Horton adds 12.8 points and 5.9 rebounds, while Lane Lauderbaugh and Rico Sain each contribute just over 10 points per outing. Rodney Henderson provides 9.1 points and 2.1 assists, and Jamarcus Powell adds size and defense with 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.


Bethel (Tenn.) (15-3, 1-1 MSC) closes out the homestand on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats average 82.2 points per game on 43.5 percent shooting while connecting on 33.5 percent of their three-point attempts and 68.4 percent at the free-throw line. Bethel controls the glass with 42.6 rebounds per game and dishes out 12.7 assists.


The Wildcats are led by Chauncey Hughes III, who averages 16.5 points while shooting 40.5 percent from three-point range and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line. David Starr adds 10.6 points, and Ethan Turner follows with 9.9 points and 4.2 rebounds. Brayden Nunnally contributes 9.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arc. Isiah Darden provides 6.1 points, while Jackson Hayes and Taylor Stovall chip in six and five points respectively to round out a balanced Bethel lineup.
