Blue Raiders Dominate Bethel 100-58

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team turned in a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, rolling past Bethel (Tenn.) 100-58 inside Biggers Sports Center.

The Blue Raiders (13-5, 3-1 Mid-South Conference) had five players score in double figures, led by Kenyata Carbon's 17 points, six steals, and three assists. Latrell Kyles posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Mihail Gavazov added another with 12 points and 10 boards. Olson Nicholson went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field for 12 points, and DJ Gordon scored 11 off the bench, knocking down all three of his attempts from beyond the arc.

Lindsey Wilson fell behind 5-2 early before responding with a 22-7 run fueled by Carbon's defense and back-to-back layups from Gavazov. Victory Naboya added a strong stretch inside with seven straight points to help the Blue Raiders take a 37-25 halftime lead.

The Blue Raiders carried that momentum into the second half and never looked back. Gavazov opened with a three-pointer, and Carbon followed with a layup to push the margin to 17. Moments later, Nicholson converted a three-point play, and Gordon buried consecutive threes to extend the lead beyond 30. Lindsey Wilson shot 68.8 percent from the floor and hit 10 threes in the half to seal the lopsided win.

As a team, the Blue Raiders shot 54.4 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from three while holding Bethel to just 31.7 percent. Lindsey Wilson also forced 21 turnovers and turned them into 31 points.

The Blue Raiders return to Biggers Sports Center on Tuesday, January 20, to host Ohio Christian at 6 p.m. CT.
