COLUMBIA, Ky.- The Blue Raider women's basketball team defeated Carolina University (N.C.) 105-67 Saturday afternoon in Biggers Sports Center. 

Meadow Tisdale paced the Blue Raider offense with 17 points and 12 rebounds alongside Saniyah Shelton, who posted 14 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double apiece. Amelia Hodges, Taylor Guess, and Jarie Thomas finished in double figures with 13, 11, and 10 points, respectively. 

17 seconds into the ballgame, Tisdale converted on a layup for an early 2-0 advantage. Shelton made her way to the free throw line at 9:02 to put LWU ahead 4-0. Shelton then picked up a steal and breakaway layup with 7:55 on the clock to grow the lead to 6-0. Carolina answered back with a 5-2 run to cut the Blue Raider advantage to 8-5 with 6:52 to play. Isabel Garcia came off the bench, picking up an offensive rebound and putback at 3:29, increasing the lead to 14-7. Both teams closed out the quarter, tallying six more points apiece for a 20-13 Blue Raider advantage. 

Shelton found a cutting Tisdale across the lane at 9:47 to grow the lead to 22-13. 32 seconds later, Tisdale grabbed an offensive board and found herself at the line, knocking down both free throws for a 24-13 advantage. From 8:36 to 7:20, the Blue Raiders went on a 9-2 run, growing the lead to 32-17. Lindsey Wilson closed out the three minutes of the quarter on a 13-5 run, heading into the locker room with a 50-31 advantage at the half. 

Lindsey Wilson opened up the third quarter on a 19-3 run to extend the lead to 69-34 with 4:56 on the clock, with Hodges tallying seven points in the run. With 3:41 on the clock, Guess converted a tough bucket in the paint to push the Blue Raiders ahead 73-39. LWU outscored Carolina 32-17 in the third quarter to lead 82-48 headed into the final ten minutes of action. 

Tisdale found an open Hodges on the left wing at 9:23 for a wide-open three to open the fourth quarter scoring. With 7:02 to play, Hodges found Thomas for a bucket inside to grow the lead to 91-51. Lindsey Wilson ended the quarter on an 8-5 run to defeat the Bruins 105-67. 

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Thursday to face the Tigers of Campbellsville University (Ky.) in Campbellsville at 4:30 P.M. CT. to open Mid-South Conference play.
