OWENSBORO, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team opened its season with a 7-0 victory over NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday at Centre Court.
Miguel Mateo Larrea and
Lucas Marques defeated Caleb Stovall and Marcos Tiferes at No. 2 doubles.
Lev Sholosh and
Facundo Grasso clinched the doubles point for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-2 win over Jose Ferrandis and Miguel Periaza in the top-seeded doubles match.
Raul Safont and José David Tobar Sánchez defeated Nick Stoever and Marc Stoever 6-4 at No. 3 doubles

Larrea gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Nick Stoever at No. 3 singles. Grasso pushed the Lindsey Wilson advantage to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Marc Stoever in the second-seeded doubles match. Sholosh clinched the match for the Blue Raiders with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Ferrandis at No. 1 singles.
Safont defeated Stovall 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4 singles, Marques won at No. 5 6-1, 6-3 over Periaza, and
Aldo Randazzo defeated Tiferes 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
The Blue Raiders return to the court on Friday, February 13, against No. 3 Tennessee Wesleyan in the First Round of the NAIA National Indoor Championships in Rome, Georgia.
