Blue Raiders Travel to Campbellsville for the Battle of Highway 55

COLUMBIA, Ky.The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team travels to face rival Campbellsville (Ky.) in the annual Battle of Highway 55 at 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, January 8, inside Powell Athletic Center.

The Blue Raiders are 10-4 overall and enter the rivalry matchup looking to extend their strong form after a productive nonconference stretch. Lindsey Wilson averages 85.5 points while shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from three-point range. On defense, the Blue Raiders are holding opponents to 76.1 points and forcing over 14 turnovers per game.


Senior guard Kenyata Carbon leads the way with 18.5 points on nearly 59 percent shooting. Julian Cunningham adds 12.9 points and has connected on 33 threes this season. Mihail Gavazov scores 12.0 points with 5.5 rebounds, while Latrell Kyles adds 11.2 points and Victory Naboya provides 9.1 points with 6.2 rebounds per game.


Campbellsville stands at 14-2 and remains one of the top teams in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers average 77.3 points while holding opponents to just 65.8. They are shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.


Dalton Kramer leads Campbellsville with 15.0 points while shooting just over 50 percent from the field. Jay Milburn contributes 10.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Eli Brooks adds 9.9 points. 


Thursday's game continues one of the most storied rivalries in the conference. Campbellsville leads the all-time series 49-34, including an 11-28 mark in games played in Campbellsville. Lindsey Wilson will look to close the gap and bring home a key conference win in the Battle of Highway 55.
