Lindsey Wilson Men’s Basketball Hosts Cumberland (Tenn.) Saturday at 3 p.m. CT

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team returns home to Biggers Sports Center on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT to host Cumberland (Tenn.) in a Mid-South Conference matchup.

Blue Raiders (11-4, 1-0 MSC) enter the contest following a thrilling 76-74 road win over Campbellsville Ky. on Thursday night in the Battle of Highway 55. Senior guard Kenyata Carbon scored a career-high 32 points, including the game-winning buzzer-beater to open conference play with a victory. 


Lindsey Wilson ranks among the Mid-South's top offensive teams, averaging 84.9 points per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from three-point range. The Blue Raiders also convert 73.4 percent of their free throws and hold a +3.3 rebounding margin. On defense, they are allowing 75.9 points per game and forcing 14.3 turnovers per contest.


Carbon leads the way with 19.4 points on 60.1 percent shooting and 41.2 percent from deep. Julian Cunningham follows with 12.7 points and a team-high 35 made threes, while Mihail Gavazov adds 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds. Latrell Kyles contributes 11.3 points and 3.5 rebounds, and Victory Naboya provides 9.1 points and 6.2 rebounds on 58 percent shooting.


Cumberland (Tenn.) (8-7, 0-1 MSC) enters the weekend averaging 79.5 points per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field. The Phoenix are one of the conference's best rebounding teams with 40.6 boards per game and a +4.2 margin, while holding opponents to 77.4 points per contest.


Triston Conger leads the Phoenix with 19.5 points and 6.0 rebounds, shooting 50.7 percent from the field and nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line. Michael Nwoye adds 11.8 points and 9.4 rebounds, nearly averaging a double-double, while Nick Brunetti contributes 11.0 points with 21 made three-pointers. Zaylin Rowland 9.9 and Riggs Abner 6.9 also provide depth in the Cumberland rotation.


Tip-off is set for 3 pm CT on Saturday, January 11, inside Biggers Sports Center.
