COLUMBIA, Ky. — The 19th-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's soccer team will start its three-game, season-ending road trip at Midway (Ky.) at 2 p.m. CT Tuesday.
The Blue Raiders (7-3-1) enter the match following a 2-0 home victory over Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville (Ky.) on Oct. 8. Against the Tigers, a scoreless first half featured both teams feeling each other out. Coming out of the break, the Lindsey Wilson offense was sparked by
Eva Cova, who scored in the 46th minute off an assist from
Ashiat Naluggwa. Cova struck again in the 50th minute to help the Blue Raiders prevail 2-0. Cova was awarded for her efforts, being named the Mid-South Conference offensive player of the week, conference officials announced Monday.
Naluggwa's seven goals and 15 points pace Lindsey Wilson's offense, while
Ona Monserrat Baca leads the team with three assists. Blue Raiders goalkeeper
Demi Serman has recorded 32 saves on the season and carries a 0.96 goals-against average.
On Oct. 8, the Eagles (3-6-0) suffered a 2-0 loss at Indiana University Columbus. Midway's leading scorer is Chloe Kemper, who has four goals. The Eagles allow 2.67 goals per game and are led in net by the tandem of Lilly Riordan and Lillian Klee. The pair has combined for nine starts.
Lindsey Wilson has won the last six matches in series, with the last meeting between the teams being a 15-0 Blue Raiders victory in 2001.
Next up is a trip to play Georgetown (Ky.) at Noon CT Saturday, Oct. 17.
