HENDERSON, Tn. – The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell at top-ranked Freed-Hardeman, 87-56, on Thursday night inside Brewer Sports Center.
The Blue Raiders (17-8, 5-4 Mid-South Conference) struggled to find consistent offense, shooting 29.5 percent from the field and 25.8 percent from three, while the Lions (25-1, 10-0 MSC) hit 52.4 percent overall and 46.4 percent from beyond the arc. Freed-Hardeman built an early double-digit lead and never looked back.
Esteban Oliveras led Lindsey Wilson with 22 points, going 6-of-17 from the field and 5-of-13 from three.
Daniel Deng Mabior added five points and seven rebounds, while
Julian Cunningham contributed five points.
Kenyata Carbon chipped in four points, and
Latrell Kyles scored four with key fast-break baskets.
The Tigers jumped out to a 15-3 lead early behind strong three-point shooting from Blake Dean and Rico Sain. Lindsey Wilson tried to counter with a fast-break layup from Rico Sain and a three from Oliveras, but Freed-Hardeman extended the lead to 44-16 at halftime.
In the second half, Lindsey Wilson showed some fight, with Oliveras hitting multiple threes and fast-break layups, and Deng Mabior adding baskets and free throws. Despite the Blue Raiders' efforts to cut into the margin, Freed-Hardeman's balanced attack kept the Tigers comfortably ahead, finishing with a 31-point victory.
