Blue Raiders Face Campbellsville in Mid-South Quarterfinal Rivalry Matchup

Columbia, Ky.- The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team will take on Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT in Bowling Green for the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament.

The Blue Raiders (18-10, 6-6 MSC) and the Tigers (18-10, 3-9 MSC) meet for the third time this season in the Highway 55 rivalry. Lindsey Wilson claimed the most recent matchup 83-68 on January 29 inside Biggers Sports Center, shooting 56 percent from the field and 57 percent from three-point range.

In that win, Kenyata Carbon led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while Mihail Gavazov added 17 points and five rebounds. Victory Naboya chipped in 16 points, and Esteban Oliveras came off the bench to score 11 on three triples. The Blue Raiders used a 12-2 run early in the second half to pull away and secure their second straight conference win at the time.

Lindsey Wilson enters the postseason averaging 81.6 points per game while shooting 48.0 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from beyond the arc. The Blue Raiders also hold a +1.8 rebounding margin and convert 75.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Carbon, the newly named Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, leads the team with 19.0 points per game while shooting nearly 59 percent from the floor. Gavazov adds 11.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest, followed by Julian Cunningham with 10.9 points and a team-high 56 made threes. Victory Naboya and Latrell Kyles each contribute nine points per game, giving Lindsey Wilson a balanced offensive attack.

Campbellsville averages 74.0 points per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three. The Tigers are led by Dalton Kramer, who scores 15.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, and Jay Milburn, who averages 9.7 points and 5.3 rebounds. Marcellus Vail adds 9.6 points per contest on 52.9 percent shooting.

Saturday marks the third meeting this season between the two rivals, with each team looking to extend its season and advance to the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals. Lindsey Wilson will look to continue its efficient offensive play and rebounding strength against a Campbellsville team known for its perimeter shooting and balanced scoring.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Bowling Green Highschool.
