MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team blanked Bethel (Tenn.) 7-0 to open Mid-South Conference play on Saturday at the Dr. Deborah Thompson Tennis Complex.
Mateo Larrea and
Lucas Marques defeated Kenzo Nishioka and Guillherme Nomure 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Lev Sholosh and
Facundo Grasso clinched the doubles point for the Blue Raiders with a 6-4 victory over Luca Nessi and Gabriek Itiwaka.
Raul Safont and Jose Tobar won 7-6 at No. 3 doubles.
Safont increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Nessi at No. 4 singles. Sholosh pushed the Blue Raider advantage to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Andrej Jovanovic at No. 1 singles. Larrera clinched the match for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles over Gustavo Santos.
Grasso made it 5-0 with a 5-7, 6-1, 10-7 victory over Itiwaka at No. 2 singles. Marques and Tobar earned victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Sunday, hosting Georgetown at 1 p.m. CT at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
