Flag Football Defeats Siena Heights on Day One of Flag Frenzy 27-8

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The Blue Raider flag football team defeated (RV) Siena Heights 27-8 on day one of the Flag Frenzy Tournament Friday afternoon.  

Amaya Pablo led the team in passing completing 19-of-29 attempts for 233-yards and three touchdowns as well as a rushing touchdown. Cadence Wermers, Gabby Kruse, and Jenna Lindsey all tacked on a receiving touchdown apiece. Emerson Gregory and Harper Gregory tacked on an interception apiece while Emily Good led the team in flag pulls with seven. 

Lindsey Wilson's defense made a statement on Siena Heights first drive of the game forcing a turnover on fourth and goal for excellent offensive field position. The Blue Raider offense began its first drive at 6:49, ending in Pablo finding Wermers from 10-yards out to take a 7-0 lead headed into the second quarter. 

Once again the LWU defense made a stop on fourth down at the 35. Lindsey Wilson went on a seven-play drive that lasted for 5:50 resulting in Pablo finding Kruse from 5-yards out to extend the lead to 13-0 with 6:10 left in the half. The Blue Raider offense took back over with 2:26 left on the game clock with Pablo finding the endzone from 2-yards out for a rushing touchdown with 0:02 left on the clock to head into halftime with a 20-0 advantage. 

LWU struck first in the second half with a seven-play drive for 66-yards with Pablo finding Lindsey on back-to-back targets leading to a 22-yard receiving touchdown and a 27-0 lead. Siena Heights converted on a first down but was met by Gregory on second down for an interception at the Saints 27 to put the ball back in the hands of the offense headed into the fourth quarter. 

Siena Heights tallied the only touchdown in the fourth quarter finding the endzone at 1:33 on a 1-yard rushing touchdown from Breana Saunders. Lindsey Wilson defeated Siena Heights 27-8. 

Flag football will be back in action tomorrow at 8:30 A.M. CT to face Wittenberg (Ohio) followed by No. 10-ranked Life (Ga.) at 3 P.M. CT on day two of the Flag Frenzy Tournament.
