Flag Football Splits on Day Two of Flag Frenzy Tournament

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- The Blue Raider flag football team split on day two of the Flag Frenzy Tournament in Campbellsville, Kentucky, defeating Wittenberg (Ohio) 52-6 and falling to No. 10-ranked Life (Ga.) 40-12. 

On the day, Amaya Pablo led the team in passing, completing 38-of-69 passes for 461 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. Jenna Lindsey led the team in receptions with seven for 89 yards and four touchdowns. Emily Good led the defense with nine flag pulls and one interception. 

Game One: Wittenberg 6, Lindsey Wilson 52
Lindsey Wilson began its first offensive possession with a five-play drive that resulted in a touchdown pass from Pablo to Emerson Gregory from six-yards out to put the Blue Raiders on the board at the 7:43 mark to lead 7-0. The LWU defense forced Wittenberg to punt with the Blue Raider offense taking over on the Tigers' 23-yard line. Pablo found Lindsey from 10-yards out for a touchdown, giving Lindsey Wilson a 14-0 lead to close out the first quarter. 

The Blue Raiders put up three more touchdowns in the first half, with Good picking off Wittenberg's Rachel Hartman for a 35-yard pick-six to push LWU ahead 34-0 headed into halftime. 

Pablo opened the second half, finding Lindsey for a 23-yard touchdown reception, extending the lead to 40-0 with 8:40 left in the third quarter. 

LWU would close out the game tacking on two more touchdowns and conceding a touchdown to Wittenberg for a final of 52-6. 

Game Two: Life 40, Lindsey Wilson 12
Lindsey Wilson struck first in its first drive with a 14-play drive for 78 yards, resulting in a three-yard rushing touchdown for Pablo to lead 6-0 with 4:27 left in the opening quarter. The Eagles answered back with a 66-yard touchdown drive of its own to even the score at 6-6 headed into the second quarter. 

Life took a 19-6 advantage in the second quarter after forcing the Blue Raiders to punt back-to-back possessions. Lindsey Wilson had a chance to score with 0:05 left in the half but Pablo's pass was intercepted by the Eagles to close the quarter, with the Blue Raiders trailing 19-6 headed into the half. 

The Blue Raiders were held scoreless through the third quarter with Life extending its lead to 40-6 deep into the fourth quarter. LWU added another touchdown to the scoring column with 0:04 left in the game after Pablo found Harper Gregory for a 23-yard touchdown reception for a final score of 40-12. 

Flag Football will be back in action on April 3 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to face (RV) Campbellsville (Ky.) at 6 P.M. CT in Finley Stadium.
