COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team defeated No. 14 Missouri Baptist 6-1 on Senior Day Saturday at the Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.
With the victory, the Blue Raiders improve to 13-2 and have won their last 11 matches. Luca da Ebenriter and Sebastian Junghanns defeated
Lev Sholosh and
Lucas Marques 6-1 in the top-seeded doubles match.
Facundo Grasso and
Miguel Mateo Larrea earned a 6-3 victory over Strahinja Radanovic and Arkhip Tokmakov at No. 2.
Raul Safont and
Aldo Randazzo earned the doubles point for Lindsey Wilson with a 6-4 victory over Nicolas Sanchez and Omar Farahat.
Larrea gave the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Radanovic at No. 3 singles. Sholosh pushed the Lindsey Wilson lead to 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Junghanns at No. 2 singles. The Spartans' lone win came in the top-seeded singles match with Ebenriter winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
Safont clinched the match for the Blue Raiders with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Tokmakov at No. 4 singles. Marques won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles, while José David Tobar Sánchez won 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-2) at No. 6.
The Blue Raiders are back in action on Saturday, April 18, for the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals at the Warren County Tennis Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
