COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Raul Safont has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Safont, of Castelló de la Plana, Spain earns his second career weekly honor after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles in a pair of victories over Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and No. 14 Missouri Baptist. Against Freed-Hardeman, he defeated Daan van Miltenburg 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles. In doubles, he and Aldo Randazzo defeated Carlos Garcia and Martin Brena 6-2 at No. 3.

He then defeated Missouri Baptist's Arkhip Tokmakov 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Safont and Randazzo recorded their second win of the weekend with a 6-3 victory over Strahinja Radanovic and Tokmakov.
 
Safont and the Blue Raiders return to action on Saturday for the Semifinals of the MSC Tournament at 3 p.m. CT at The Warren County Tennis Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
